They proved it on VH1 about 2 weeks ago that 867-5309 was some lady's phone number and it wasnt the band's intention to play this as some lame prank (as some had thought before) but in real life, the singer liked this girl called Jenny, who had given him her phone number and hence, ages later, remembering the girl Jenny, Tommy Tutone made the ever popular and catchy song that we all adore to this day=)
