September 09, 2006Reunion reunionIn rememberance of my visit to Pullman, Laura came to the San Diego area for a visit this weekend. Quite the reunion, we did some of the touristy outdoors things in SD, as well as some of the not-so-touristy.
We went hiking in the desert, for example, devouring nearly all of our water on a 1000' descent in the pounding sun and dry air. We recouperated in a creek oasis for several hours, waiting for the sun to drop a little before hiking back up. We made it out alive, at least.
We also kayaked La Jolla Cove, baked a loaf of bread, and otherwise made a mess of the place. I also jumped in the Pacific Ocean for the first time...a totally different body of water and with different meaning.
